What PU screed is built for

A polyurethane cementitious screed is the toughest floor we supply: laid thick, seamless and dense enough to take steam, hot-water washdowns and sudden temperature swings that would craze a resin coating. It's the standard for food, beverage and wet processing.

Food-safe and hygienic, it resists organic acids, fats and constant moisture, and can be laid with coving for a fully cleanable, joint-free finish. Slip-rated textures make it safe in wet zones.

Common questions

Yes — it's a seamless, non-porous, easy-to-clean finish widely used in food and beverage. Add hygienic coving and it becomes a fully joint-free, washable surface.
It's made for exactly that. A PU cementitious screed resists thermal shock, so steam and hot-water cleaning won't craze it the way they would a standard epoxy.
Thicker than a coating — it goes down as a screed several millimetres deep, and the exact thickness is set by the thermal shock and loading the floor has to take.
Not always, but in washdown areas it's usually worth it. Coving removes the wall-to-floor joint so there's nowhere for water and residue to collect.
It's a thicker, heavier-duty system, so the material and labour are both greater. Where hygiene and thermal shock are in play it tends to work out cheaper over the life of the floor.
