Common questions

Because it's what makes the floor last. Grinding, repairing and moisture-proofing a slab is labour-intensive, but skipping it is the most common reason coatings fail early.
Only if the slab has rising moisture — which is common in older floors with no DPM. We check for it before spec'ing, because coating over damp concrete leads to blistering.
We test the slab before spec'ing anything, usually with a relative humidity or hygrometer reading. That result decides whether a moisture barrier is needed.
Most cracks and damaged areas can be cut out and rebuilt with resin mortars. A full slab replacement is rare — and we'd tell you plainly if it were the honest answer.
Mechanically — grinding or shot-blasting back to a clean, sound, open surface. Chemical etching doesn't give a reliable key for industrial systems.
